Boulder Canyon Natural Foods, Atlanta, GA, has introduced a renewable, compostable package for its line of All Natural Kettle Cooked Potato Chips that incorporates metallized NatureFlex NKM film from UK-based Innovia Films. The packaging is said to look, feel, and “sound” the same as traditional bags. Converted by Canada-based Genpak, the cellulose-based flexible film contains more than 90% renewable content and is compostable in both home and industrial settings. According to Bill Reilly, Genpak development manager, “The film performs well technically and has excellent moisture, gas, and light barrier properties that enhance shelf life and protect the product.” Visit www.innoviafilms.com.
