Bekaert Buys MSC Specialty Films and ISF

KORTRIJK, BELGIUM The Bekaert Group has acquired the Specialty Films business of Material Sciences Corp. (MSC) for USD $122 million. The acquisition includes all coating and laminating operations located in San Diego, CA.

Also included in the acquisition is 50% of the shares of Innovative Specialty Films (ISF), a 50/50 joint venture between MSC/SFI and Bekaert Corp. ISF, which has sputter coating operations in California, North Carolina, and Belgium, is now 100% owned by Bekaert.
