Nonwovens for Variable Data

Company reports two new styles of Tyvek: Brillion DR and Brillion DRC. Both are specially engineered for thermal transfer printing of bar codes and variable information. Lightweight material is said to provide improved smudge resistance; reduced puckering and curling; resistance to rips and tears; and greater whiteness than traditional Tyvek.

The LX400 color label printer is an inkjet-based model suited for short runs to dpi print resolution of 4,800. Prints full-color photos, text, graphics, and bar code labels. Printed labels are said to be virtually scratchproof and waterproof. Recommended for specialty foods, office and industrial products, retail tags, coupons, and tickets.
