RotoMetrics Opens Tech Center
ST. LOUIS, MO | RotoMetrics has opened a Converting Technology Center to demonstrate product innovations. The center covers 2,000 sq ft and provides visitors with demonstrations of die-cutting and modular processing equipment.
The area also will serve as an R&D center, reports VP of technology Steve Lee. “…Customers have been anxious to see their products perform when running live converting applications, and now we are able to fulfill that request by showing them firsthand exactly how much more productive their operations can be. It also allows our R&D team to engineer and test products.…”
The center features a 26-in. rotary processing module as well as a 16-in. Pantec Electroman hot foil stamping system.
Cenveo Expands
STAMFORD, CT | Cenveo has acquired Impaxx, owner of Gilbreth Packaging Solutions, Croydon, PA. CEO Robert G. Burton Sr. says, “The acquisition…expands our specialty packaging into the growing shrink sleeve market. Gilbreth's product line complements Cenveo's existing offerings and will create immediate cross-selling opportunities for both companies' customers.” Mesirow Financial, Chicago, IL, acted as financial advisor to Impaxx.
Press Is Perfect Fit
LONG BEACH, CA | Epson America has installed the first SurePresss L-4033A digital label press at Tape and Label Converters, Santa Fe Springs, CA. The press prints on a range of off-the-shelf substrates with no pre-coating required at speeds to 16 fpm. “SurePress is a perfect fit for us because it offers the print quality and spot color reproduction our clients demand, as well as allows us to reach out to new clients with greater capability,” says Mas Crawford, VP of sales.

Mark Andy Sells Presses in India
ST. LOUIS, MO | Mark Andy announces two Performance Series machine sales in India. Barcom Industries, located in Maharashtra, purchased the first Performance Series P5 to be installed in the country. The converter has invested in an eight-color, 13-in.-wide machine, featuring a rail system, web turnbar, and cold foil unit. A Barcom official says, “The Performance Series line encompasses state-of-the-art flexographic print technology with a uniquely engineered printhead design and extremely fast makeready times. The addition of the P5 will not only bring us advanced technology but will also offer a high quality, servo-driven press at a reasonable price.”
Astron Packaging, Ahmedabad, purchased a 10-in.-wide, eight-color Performance Series P5. Niraj Darji says, “We [chose] the Performance Series because of its innovative print platform and the machine's consistently high print quality.…Not only is the press highly efficient but is also very user-friendly due to its simple design.”
