Multi-Color Corp., Batavia, OH, was the night's leading award recipient, grabbing ten nods from PLGA judges, including six winners and four honorable mentions. In the Heat Shrinkable-More Than 13% category, the company is honored for the Arnold Palmer Cocktail Mix wrap. Ten colors are printed on heat transfer film on a Schiavi press. This sample is a collection of solid spot color backgrounds, grayscale images, four-color process reproductions, and high brilliance metallic inks. “What a lovely deep-colored background throwing the other images into contrast and outlining the man himself,” say the judges, who also are impressed with gold embellishments, which they say “add that little bit of luxury to the final result.” The bright reds, yellows, and greens of the color image finish the product.

Multicolor also impresses the judges in several other categories, including Paper, Overall Innovation, In-Mold Label Paper, and Reverse Printed.
