AIMCAL Honors Technical Papers

FORT MILL, SC | The Assn. of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators bestowed 2010 John Matteucci Technical Excellence Awards for the top two papers presented at its Fall Technical Conference held October 17-20 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

In the Coating/Laminating Track, the award went to Steve Zagar, Jeff Quass, and Dan Bemi of MEGTEC Systems for “Drying Laboratory Methods for the Development of Complex Empirical Drying Data.”

In the Vacuum Web Coating Track, Nick Copeland and Robert Astbury of General Vacuum Equipment and Donald J. McClure, Ph.D., of Acuity Consulting and Training took top honors for a two-part presentation, “Evaporated Aluminum on Polyester: Optical, Electrical and Barrier Properties as a Function of Thickness and Time.”
