Narrow Web & Label Reporter

Pouch Product Added to Line

The Fasson Roll North America division of Avery Dennison Corp. reports the expansion of its flexible packaging cosmetic web offering.

Designated Cosmetic Web Light, the lightweight, polyester-faced laminated pouch product is designed to enhance shelf life while giving converters an economical alternative. The universal pouch material is said to provide a high gloss finish for food and household applications.

The product is offered through the “eco-smart” Rapid-Roll FlexPak program in which the company provides converters with the exact width required, resulting in cost savings through reduced scrap, lower inventory costs, reduced freight, and better operational efficiencies.

Tape Converter Expands

Pro Tapes & Specialties, a provider of PSA tapes, has expanded and relocated all operations to a single 140,000-sq-ft corporate headquarters and manufacturing center in North Brunswick. Pro Tapes plans to invest $3.5 million in equipment, facilities, and personnel during its current year.

Software, Stock Connection

Tailored Solutions reports its Label Traxx print business management software for flexo narrow web label printers and converters now connects seamlessly with Acucote, Graham, NC, a supplier of p-s stock.

With this feature, Label Traxx users can access the Acucote order system directly from their software. Printers using Label Traxx can reduce order entry time by connecting directly and securely to the Acucote order website, eliminating double entries and reducing the risk of errors.

More Digital Capacity, More Flexibility

Digitalabel has added a second HP WS4500 digital press to offer greater capacity and faster turnaround on its labels for customized, short-run, and prototype packaging projects.

“Perhaps digital printing's greatest power is its flexibility,” says John Dowling, general manager of Digitalabel. “You can print 1,000 custom labels and every label can contain different data — complete, variable data printing. Packaged product marketers have awaited the day when they could have so many variations and possibilities available to them. It's a revolution for the printing business.”

The new press accommodates clear film and has nine-color capacity, including opaque whites.
