IMDA Announces 2010 Awards Competition

SCOTTSDALE, AZ | The In-Mold Decorating Assn. is accepting entries for the Fourth Annual IMDA Awards Competition, which recognizes the industry's best in-mold labeled packaging and in-mold decorated durable products. The winning entries are chosen based on creativity in design, engineering, and innovation.

Entries must be received by June 1. Award winners will be recognized at IMLCON10 and IMDCON10, September 29-30 in Miami, FL. Visit www.imdassociation.com for details.

• Brady Worldwide, Milwaukee, WI, is selected by HP, Palo Alto, CA, as the supplier for anti-counterfeit security labels for use on select packaging of HP's printer cartridges. The labels have been developed with numerous layers of authentication features.

• Masterpiece Graphix (MGX), Fenton, MO, is named a supplier partner for Tailored Solutions, Milwaukee, WI, for its Label Traxx job management software. MGX materials and services are available through the Label Traxx system as part of a February 2010 software update.

• Rotocontrol, Ahrensburg, Germany, is an approved member of the Tag & Label Mfrs. Assn., Gloucester, MA.

• Wise Systems, Shamong, NJ, revises its website, www.wisesystemsinc.com, to make it easier to navigate and order products online. The company also unveils a new website, www.thermaltransfernow.com, which offers easy ordering of thermal transfer paper and adhesive combinations.

• Baker Materials, London, UK, now offers both white and clear versions of Fasson Polyexact PE in smaller run lengths.

• Overnight Labels, Deer Park, NY, is recognized in the “Sustainable” issue of FLEXO magazine from the Flexographic Technical Assn., Ronkonkoma, NY, for doing its part in becoming a more socially responsible printer.

• Nuova GIDUE, Tavarnuzze, Italy, signs an agreement with Smag S.A. to be the exclusive distributor of its combination presses in France.
