Roland DGA Printer/Cutter Produces Prototypes

IRVINE, CA | Roland DGA says the VersaUV LEC-330 printer/cutter is a state-of-the-art UV-LED inkjet that’s enabling packaging design firms, printers, and converters to create realistic package prototypes, on actual press substrates, faster and more cost-effectively.

Company says the VersaUV LEF-12 flatbed printer is capable of printing directly on virtually any type of substrate, including 3D objects, to personalize a vast array of items.

“These devices allow companies to create a wide variety of package prototypes, ranging from more traditional label and folding carton short runs to flexo and shrink, within hours rather than days,” says Roland’s group product manager Hiroshi Ono. “By quickly generating prototypes that look and feel just like the finished product, complete with unique varnish and embossing effects, these firms are able to ‘wow’ their existing customers, attract new clients, and maximize revenue.”
