Converflex Will Join IPACK-IMA in 2015

MILAN, ITALY | Event organizer Centrexpo Spa reports that next year will mark a new life for Converflex, taking place in close synergy with IPACK-IMA as part of the 2015 event scheduled from May 19–23 at Fieramilano.

Centrexpo notes that because converting technologies are increasingly packaging-oriented, it has come up with a strategic combination. IPACK-IMA participants include converting technology users; in addition, interest in converting and package printing technology is increasingly high across the target industries, both food and nonfood.

This is a change from the past co-location with Grafitalia, says Converflex. Reportedly, this change was caused by two main factors: The economic and technological performance of the industries targeted by Converflex is increasingly diverging from Grafitalia’s; and, there is strong relationship between converting and packaging—with the latter acting as the main driving force—and printing technology is increasingly package printing-oriented.

The news was announced by Centrexpo CEO Guido Corbella during the annual Federgrafica assembly. “We chose to completely renew the exhibition in response to the market’s specific demand for technology and consistently with the philosophy of the Centrexpo-Ipack-Ima group to produce useful exhibitions designed around the needs of exhibitors and users.”

Centrexpo decided to enhance the strategic combination by placing Converflex in Hall 2, Fieramilano, at what is says is the heart of IPACK-IMA’s exhibition area, in a central position very close to the underground entrance and to the EXPO 2015 area. The organizer intends to encourage the presence of machinery and technology, and the show will also be supported by a large global promotional plan and will be visited by influential foreign buyers selected in cooperation with the Italian Trade Promotion Agency.

Dr. Corbella also announced that Grafitalia has been moved from 2015 to 2017, noting that the postponement brings it to a more favorable time for the industries it targets. He adds that because the industry still needs continuous updates on the latest developments, Centrexpo decided to keep the interest high by organizing the “Grafitalia days,” events/debates dealing with specific topics of current interest for the industry. The exhibition’s steering committee is now working on the calendar and the first “Grafitalia days” will take place before the end of 2014.
