WESTERLY, RI | Maxson Automatic Machinery Company reports that printers and converters who have purchased sheeted stock can now transform rolls to precisely dimensioned skids of material with the MSP Sheeter.
Available in widths of either 57 in. (1,447 mm) or 65 in. (1,650 mm), the sheeter can run at speeds to 1,000 fpm (308 mpm) while maintaining tolerances of ±0.015-in. (±0.381-mm) length accuracy.
Company says the sheeter's compact size requires minimal floor space and only one operator. Various stacker configurations are available, permitting lengths up to 65 in. (1,524 mm) long to be sheeted or, for the digital press market, 40 in. (1,016 mm) long. Outfitted with the company’s Airfoil Overlap, it reportedly runs lightweight grades of paper jam-free at high speeds.
Though capable of cutting up to five rolls at a time, the MSP Sheeter is usually outfitted with two shaftless unwinds for short runs and quick makereadies, allowing press room managers to sheet only the number of sheets required for an order.
