DuPont Shares Next Chapter in Delaware
- Published: December 29, 2015
In a new SEC filing on the DuPont website, chair of the board and CEO Ed Breen shares with his Delaware-based colleagues an announcement revealing, as the result of the Dow-DuPont merger, the necessity for some changes to secure the future for DuPont. Among these changes are the following:
- A 2016 cost reduction program raises concerns about a continued future in Delaware, which has been home to the corporation for 213 years.
- Job reductions will take place in the beginning of 2016 by approximately 1,700 Delaware-based positions.
- Corporate headquarters for the combined, post-merger Specialty Products business will remain in Wilmington, DE. This includes DuPont's Nutrition & Health, Industrial Biosciences, Safety & Protection and Electronics & Communications, as well as the Dow Electronic Materials business.
- Selection is planned for a corporate headquarter location of the company's Agriculture business.
