AICC Introduction to Rotary Die Cutting Seminar

AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, has limited availability remaining for its newest seminar, Introduction to Rotary Die Cutting, to be held March 27-28 at Fox Valley Technical Institute, in Appleton, Wisc.

This new two-day seminar plans to focus on safely producing quality boxes at speed on < 4 color RDC machines. Attendees can explore each section of the machine with expert trainers and suppliers. They can practice their new skills in a hands-on environment and build standard operating procedures to take back to their home plants.

After completing the seminar, attendees will be able to:

  • Apply the correct methods/tools needed to conduct key production performance requirements.
  • Create employee buy-in and reduce turnover.
  • Improve the accuracy of production data; get everyone involved in preventing problems.
  • Measure production using:
    • MSF per staff hour
    • Overall equipment effectiveness,
    • Speed
    • Set-up time
  • Use multiple process improvement tools:
    • Key performance indicators,
    • Project planning,
    • Identify waste in time, dollars and effort;
    • Crew meeting management.

Instructors, Mark Keller, graphic arts instructor, and Scott Gehrt, flexographic printing instructor, of Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) are scheduled to share their decades of experience.

Mark Keller has 23 years with Fox Valley Technical College and nine years of Flexographic Printing industry experience with Belmark Corporation. Keller is active in the industry via board and committee membership and often judges printing competitions. He specializes in seminars, workshops, testing and trial runs for business and industry.

Scott Gehrt has 14 years with FVTC as a Flexographic Printing Instructor and 12 years of flexographic printing industry experience. Gehrt has extensive experience on press, seminar, testing and trials, teaching Technical Diploma and Associate degree programs on wide web, corrugated and narrow web equipment.
