FPPA Announces Hands-On Workshop for Pre-Press Production Managers

The Flexographic Pre-Press Platemakers Association (FPPA) will host its annual Fall Workshop on September 25-26. Offering fresh insights to plant, production and technical managers in the flexo pre-press industry, this two-day workshop gives attendees the opportunity to learn on a live flexo press at Clemson University.

Attendees will spend the first day at Clemson University, learning on a live flexographic press. Led by staff from the university’s Graphic Communications Department, workshop attendees will go through a press set-up and run, complete substrate print comparisons and do on-press troubleshooting.

The first day will also feature a tour of the Sonoco Institute of Packaging Design and Graphics on Clemson’s campus. There, attendees will get a deeper knowledge of pre-press processes and see cutting-edge equipment.

The second day of the workshop will feature classroom-style sessions. Bringing the hands-on component full circle, attendees will analyze samples from the press run the previous day. They’ll also learn from industry experts on technical considerations in paper and corrugated, inks and machines.

“FPPA is thrilled to offer this value-packed technical workshop for flexo pre-press industry professionals,” said Brian Westerlind, executive director of FPPA. “The Fall Workshop offers a unique type of experiential learning, and I encourage all of those in the industry to take advantage of the what event has to offer.”

The classroom portion of the workshop will take place at the Courtyard by Marriott Greenville-Spartanburg Airport, and registration includes meals as well as transportation to and from Clemson University.

Registration is open to both FPPA members and nonmembers. For more information or to register, visit flexoplatemakers.com/events.
