The best investment in a tension measurement system starts with the installation of a DFE Tension Roll® transducer or, for narrower web on a cantilevered machine frame, a Narrow Web tension transducer.  DFE offers a large range of transducer sizes and load ratings to address the growing variation of web substrates that converters are likely to encounter.

DFE Tension Roll® and Narrow Web transducers combine a high-durability idler roll and two tension sensors in one unit. They require no assembly — just bolt then onto your machine. They are available in 3 roll diameters and many widths from 6” wide and up with load ratings from 12 lbs. and up.

We also manufacture the Model C tension transducer, considered the industry standard in silicon strain-gauge based web tension transducers (sometimes called “load cells”) These workhorse transducers are available in 3 frame sizes and both live-shaft and dead-shaft versions.

For customers requiring display indication, our affordable EasyView™ or TrueView™ indicators, will amplify the web tension signal from a transducer (or transducer pair) to deliver an isolated 0-10VDC tension signal to a PLC, drive, controller, or HMI.

A full featured tension controller like our SteadyWeb6™ provides the additional benefit of automatic digital closed-loop tension control without the need for operator intervention to make adjustments throughout a production run. All adjustments on the SteadyWeb6™ controller can be made through the large, responsive touch screen display.

One of the best achievements of Dover Flexo was developing a solution to brake squeal problems on industrial brakes.  Since 2011 our patented Silencer™ Pads have been 100% effective at eliminating brake squeal noise. Part of determining brake squeal issues is to ensure that brakes are properly installed and aligned for the web application and machine running conditions. If improper installation doesn’t seem to be a root cause, Silencer™ pads will provide an effective solution to most squealing problems.
