New Look Board for Hologram Trade Body as it Celebrates 30th Anniversary

The trade body representing the international hologram industry has announced changes to its executive board as it marks its 30th anniversary year in 2023.

With a career spent in holography and the markets it serves, Ondřej Fedorčák from Optaglio has been elected to the board of the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA). In a separate move, Dr Paul Dunn’s position as chair has been extended for another year following unanimous approval.

The news comes as the IHMA continues to develop and expand its membership base, in particular to include more non-traditional members coming from outside the security and brand protection industries.

Developing collaborative initiatives with the Counterfeit Intelligence Bureau, which includes expanding the Hologram Image Register to include images for other optically variable devices besides holograms, Secure Identification Union in China and Intergraf, the security printers trade association, are also seen as priorities for the board over the next 12 months.

Commercial holograms continue to see robust growth despite the global challenges, according to Dr. Paul Dunn, while hologram-based authentication and track and trace systems help to underpin efforts by government and law enforcement agencies to bolster their protection strategies.

Welcoming Ondřej Fedorčák to the board, Dr. Dunn said: “The IHMA continues to move forward and work with members and organisations to ensure that it remains a strong advocate, industry voice and effective resource for the industry in the future.

“I look forward to working with colleagues in this, the IHMA’s 30th year, helping our industry secure growth and innovate, as well as ensuring all involved in holography come together as one to secure the opportunities available for growth.”
