Creo Updates Packaging Software & More

VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA—Creo recently announced updates and upgrades to its packaging software solutions, including its production workflow products, remote and hard proofing solutions, and flexo and offset computer-to-plate (CTP) devices for converters and prepress trade shops. The company identifies some of its product/software updates as:

  • Prinergy Powerpack v. 2.1: Includes new features for flexography, including vector distortion and 7.5i screening; enhanced trapping and color-management features; and integration with the Pandora packaging and label step-and-repeat solution. "The Pandora solution uses JDF (job definition format) to pass step-and-repeat information and job data to the Prinergy Powerpack workflow," states Creo.
  • "Spotless solution" technology, comprising Staccato screening for fidelity and continuous tone performance, the six-color capability of the Prinergy workflow-management system, and implementation services provided by the Creo Consulting Services Group. "The Spotless technology demonstration shows automatic six-color separation and proofing. This six-color technology will be available in Prinergy this year," states Creo.
  • ThermoFlex 2630 flexographic CTP device, was developed and priced to meet the needs of the narrow web market/tag-and-label converters. "All ThermoFlex CTP devices are equipped with 830nm laser thermal imaging and feature fast, easy load/unload operation, which reduced material damage and dramatically improves productivity. A wide range of media types, sizes, and thicknesses is accommodated, and adjustments are not required when changing plate sizes, so operaters can move from job to job quickly, without slowing production. Total throughput is the best in the industry and imaging speed is consistent independently of plate thickness," states the prepress manufacturer.
