Heidelberg Wins GATF InterTech Award for Prinect Inpress Control

KENNESAW, GA | Prinect Inpress Control, the in-line color measuring system from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg), won the prestigious InterTech Award presented by the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF). The far faster set-up times of this in-line measuring system, which Heidelberg unveiled at Ipex 2006, made a particular impression on the panel of judges, a result of the machine no longer having to be stopped for sheet pulls and measurements. Both inking up and registration are quicker, too. The fact that the machine does not need to be stopped also cuts paper waste.
The in-line measuring and control system is available for Speedmaster XL 75, Speedmaster XL 105, Speedmaster XL 145, and Speedmaster XL 162 presses.
The PIA/GATF InterTech Technology Award has been presented annually since 1978. It is awarded to particularly innovative technologies that are of concrete benefit to the print media industry and is aimed at advancing technical progress in the industry. GATF is one of the world’s leading technical associations in the graphics communications industry.
