MASON CITY, IO | Metalcraft’s rugged, waterproof tag has longer read range and subsurface printed data at lower cost for asset tracking applications requiring resistance to heavy impacts as great as 20 tons or submersion in water depths to over 130 ft. With 5x1-in. dimensions, the product is said to provide a read range over 10 ft, using a passive, Gen2 KSW windshield RFID inlay. The RFID Hard Tag construction houses the inlay in .5-in. thick UV stabilized polycarbonate with a clear window for an internal label containing barcode or human-readable data. The Hard Tag features digital printing on the interior label, allowing full-color logos and other information. Metalcraft can program the printed information (or other data) on the RFID inlay during production. Company now offers six standard RFID product constructions in addition to its ongoing development of custom solutions. See http://www.idplate.com.
