CREVE COEUR, MO, and CHICAGO, IL | Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. (Nasdaq: SSCC) has received a “Staff Determination” notification from Nasdaq that its equity securities will be delisted from The Nasdaq Stock Market. The decision was made after reviewing the press release that Smurfit-Stone had filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code and other publicly available information.
Smurfit-Stone also reports the US Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, DE, has granted the relief the company requested in its “First Day Motions” filed in conjunction with its voluntary filing for reorganization under Chapter 11.
