A Touch of Texture

LANGLEY, BC, CANADA | Meritage Specialty Packaging Ltd., in collaboration with Friesens Corp., Altona, MB, Canada, has patented an enhanced imaging technology for printing and package decoration. The think4D process is suitable for a range of applications, including product authentication and printed electronic circuitry, and offers the ability to communicate in four dimensions (length, width, depth, and texture).

Meritage CEO Jay Tapp says, “I like to combine various printing processes, coatings, and metallic treatments into think4D designs.” The technology is said to liberate printing and packaging by adding depth and texture as well as bi-sensory experiences for consumers.
