PACK EXPO Las Vegas at a Glance

The labeling, decorating and coding machinery market is one of the fastest-growing market segments, with a CAGR of 3 percent from 2016 to 2021, according to PMMI’s Robotics Innovation 2 Implementation report. In addition to the wide range of packaging technologies showcased throughout every aisle of PACK EXPO Las Vegas (September 23- 25 at the Las Vegas Convention Center; Las Vegas), converters and packaging professionals in particular can take advantage of The PACKage Printing Pavilion and The Containers and Materials Pavilion

New to PACK EXPO Las Vegas, The PACKage Printing Pavilion, located in the Central Hall, gathers exhibitors showcasing the latest digital printing advancements in one convenient location. Industry professionals can expect to find cost-effective solutions for smart, short-run, on-demand, variable data and personalized packaging.

Attendees can also find the latest innovations in paperboard, glass, metal and plastic, flexible and resalable packaging as well as containers and materials in The Containers and Materials Pavilion located in the Lower South Hall.

Additionally, 200 exhibitors at PACK EXPO Las Vegas will offer converting support/specialty machines and converting machines for containers and materials, as well as package printing solutions.

Produced by PMMI, the show is anticipated to bring together solutions from over 2,000 exhibiting companies on the almost sold-out 900,000 net square foot exhibit floor.

PACK EXPO Las Vegas is expected to host 30,000 attendees, including 5,000 international visitors from more than 125 countries, with a range of job functions, including engineers, purchasers, production supervisors, package designers, brand managers and marketers, logistics and supply chain management, as well as corporate, general, plant and project managers among others.

Educational Opportunities

PACK EXPO Las Vegas and Healthcare Packaging EXPO attendees will have access to free educational programming at the Innovation Stage. Suppliers will address industry-specific solutions and best practices during 30-minute seminars throughout the show. Attendees can also attend free 45-minute seminars at The Forum, where they can delve into the latest industry trends with hands-on activities, small group discussions and Q&A sessions.

PMMI U will offer training workshops to keep industry members well-equipped to address evolving needs. Attendees can take part in a session on Risk Assessment and a Certified Trainer workshop, which delivers strategies and tactics to train across all employee skills. The Fundamentals of Field Service seminar, open to PMMI members, delves into non-technical knowledge and skills needed to be a great technician.

The Amazing Packaging Race and the Future Innovators Robotics Showcase will recognize innovations developed by Las Vegas-area students. Suppliers will be able to meet with students and veterans pursuing careers in packaging and processing during one-on-one informational interviews, through CareerLink, PMMI’s online job board, which will be live at PACK EXPO. Attendees can stop by the Workforce Development Pavilion to learn about all the student activities and find out about packaging programs.

Specialty Zones

Making its debut at PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2019, the Robotics Zone showcases lively, interactive robot and collaborative robot (cobot) displays, including pick and place/relocation activities and an artificial intelligence and human interaction demo, sponsored by Siemens Packaging Automation Fair.  The PACK EXPO Greeter Robot will greet visitors who can listen to live music by the Kuka Robotic Band. Robots will pack snacks for children facing food insecurity issues across Las Vegas and the United States for PACK for a Purpose: Robots Fighting Hunger, in collaboration with Blessings in a Backpack.

As demand rises for sustainable packaging solutions, the Reusable Packaging Pavilion, sponsored by the Reusable Packaging Association (RPA), is a hot spot for technologies that reduce waste, cut costs and gain chain efficiency. At the Containers and Materials Pavilion, visitors can find together the latest innovations in paperboard, glass, metal, plastic, flexible and resealable packaging.

New to PACK EXPO Las Vegas, the Technology Excellence Awards recognizes innovative technologies in specific market segments that are being showcased for the first time. All registered attendees will be able to vote on their favorite solutions.
